Jorge Geraldino Pimentel was a caring father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He left this world suddenly on April 9th, 2021 at the age of 66, in his hometown of Hartford, Connecticut.
Jorgito, as those close to him liked to call him because of his child-like kindness and enthusiasm, was the proud father to 4 daughters: Tanesha, Georgina, Johanna, and Orquidea and to two sons: Jorge and Ivan. His children also provided him with the blessing to become the proud Abuelo to 14 grandchildren ranging in ages from 1 to 25 years old.
Jorgito became a father figure on a particular set of grandchildren, Gianna, Giovanna, and Leo. He participated on all their activities acting as a guardian while driving them to school, soccer and baseball practices, school functions, as well as many other places and activities. Now all his children, grandchildren, families, and friends have a guardian angel guiding them everywhere they go.
Jorgito was an electrical engineer and a devoted baseball fan who enjoyed EVERYTHING related to the Yankees and Aguilas Cibaeñas. While most fans typically only care about wins and losses, Jorgito cared about every single pitch thrown in a Yankees game. Jorgito always brightened up any room with his smile, but if you ever watched a Yankees game sitting near him, you would think he was watching game 7 of the World Series simply by the way he celebrated every strike thrown by a Yankees pitcher or each time they reached first base. He also had some of us on speed dial to celebrate homeruns even if the game was in early April or in spring training. If you read that closely, that also teaches us a great lesson about enjoying and savoring every moment and that there are more things to celebrate in life besides wins and losses. Cherish every moment with your friends and family because The Journey is the Destination.
Love Always
