Jon Lawrence Perry entered Heaven’s Gates on September 9, 2021, at his home in Yukon at the age of 73. Jon was born to parents Jack Perry and Louise Perry on October 19, 1947, in Edmond, OK. His younger school years were spent in various towns in south and west Texas, Edmond, OK, Pennsylvania, southern Oklahoma, and finally, Yukon. Jon graduated from Yukon High School and remained a proud Yukon Miller for the next 59 years. He was an inspiration to his teammates on his high school football team who lovingly referred to him as “Big Arliss” or “Big Jon.”

Jon served his hometown during employment years as a younger adult. He worked for the City of Yukon in various roles and was honored to be handpicked for the first paid fireman’s position. Jon’s career in the dairy product industry began as a dock hand. His dedication and perseverance promoted him to plant manager with Mid-America Dairyman.

The greatest sparks in Jon’s life were his wife Linda and daughters Angela, Tommye, and Amy. He loved his girls and they were inspired by his love for music and all things sports. He helped coach their basketball teams growing up. Jon was a avid OU fan. Jon and Linda spent time across parts of the country as his dairy manufacturer and distributor career moved them to Missouri, Wisconsin, Texas, and back to Oklahoma.

Jon and Linda were devoted to their church, South Yukon Church of Christ, and they served there faithfully for many years. Their church friends looked forward to his warm greeting and welcoming smile on Sunday mornings. His servant’s heart was evident; he would do anything for anybody without thinking twice. Everyone who knew Jon will miss his gentle spirit and genuine kindness.

Jon Lawrence Perry is reunited with his parents Jack and Louise Perry, sister Jana, mother-in-law Wilma and father-in-law Charles Yarbrough. Three brothers-in-law, and a niece Michelle. Those who await to see Jon again include his wife Linda, daughters Angela, Tommye, and Amy, eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, brothers Seth and Michael, and sisters Tammy and Kimberly, and other extended family members. Special friends include Lynn Morton and Mel Warden and all his beloved church friends and his loyal companion Yogi.

Jon’s life will be remembered on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at 2:00 PM at South Yukon Church of Christ.
