Today we bid farewell to Johnny Ray Mays, 55.   Johnny had so many attributes in his life.   He was a father, a brother, a son, a veteran, a chef, a servant of the Lord, an uncle, and a true friend.  Johnny had a unique ability to love people for who they were, where they were at in life, and unconditionally.   He could make you feel like you were the only one in the room.

Words seem inadequate to convey who Johnny was, but here are a few accomplishments he managed to do in such a short lifetime.   Johnny earned three separate bachelor’s degrees in ministry, culinary arts, and carpentry.   He had a zeal for life and wanted to experience all that he could and be all that he could be.   He embodied the entrepreneurial spirit seen in his many business endeavors.  Such as his construction business, “Walk-about Construction”; “Uncle Johnny’s BBQ & Spices; including but not limited to his catering, “Flavors from the Heart” and many more.

Johnny accepted the Lord as his personal Savior at the young age of six years old.   Since then he was always about serving others.   He had a true heart toward the Pastors and the ministry they served.  So much that he realized a lifelong dream and started the “Pastors Table” which continues to thrive today in the Huntsville, AL area.

From a very young age, Johnny had a love and patriotism for this country and went on to join the armed forces at the tender age of eighteen.  He loved being in the Army.

He was predeceased by : his father Thomas Marshall Mays Jr.. He is survived by : his mother Sandra E. Zoblisein; his step-father Robert A. Zoblisein;
Partner Sharon Brawner, former wife Christie Mays, step children Brittney and Michael, Former Wife Michelle Bruesewitz and his children, Heaven Onley, Josiah Mays, Jessie Mays and Candice Mays.
his siblings, Cynthia Donohue, Hank T. Mays Sr. (Teressa Mays) Marshanna Mays (Thomas May); his step-siblings, Bethany Griffin (Michael) and Patrick Zoblisein (Tracy); many cousins, nieces and nephews. He also had 2 grandchildren.

Johnny’s generous, loving heart, will be truly missed by all of the lives that he impacted in his 55 young years.
