John Vandiver Crutcher, age 72, of Northport, formerly of Fayette, passed away Nov. 24, 2010, at home.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife of 43 years, Dorothy Stewart Crutcher, who died Sept. 15, 2009.
Survivors include his daughters, Julie Morgan (Tim) of Glenrock, Wyo., Luci Broaddrick (Bret) of Florence, and Susan Clements (Tim) of Northport; a son, Jim Crutcher of Atlanta, Ga.; a sister, Frances Crutcher Alexander of Fayette; grandchildren, Adam McLaughlin, Katie Stewart (Ryan) of Casper, Wyo., Matthew Morgan of Glenrock, Wyo., Justin Crutcher of Atlanta, Ga., John Broddrick, Daniel Broddrick of Florence, Julia Clements, and Jackson Clements of Northport; and one niece, Victoria Alexander of Fayette.
Mr. Crutcher was born on Nov. 10, 1938, the son of the late John Parker Crutcher, Jr. and Lucy Tarwater Crutcher in Fayette County. He was a 1957 graduate of Fayette County High School and earned an education degree from The University of North Alabama. Most of his career was spent as a self-employed, educational salesman. He was a member of the Fayette First United Methodist Church for many years.
