Johnie Mae Franklin was born on November 2, 1950, daughter of John T. Franklin and Frances Stansberry Franklin Taylor, in Carrollton, Mississippi. One of eleven children, her parents preceded her in death.
Johnie graduated from Harry Wood High School, in Indianapolis, in 1969. Having embarked upon her career in telecommunications as an operator at the former Indiana Bell, now known as AT&T, in 1968, she retired after forty years, as a Computer Network Specialist in July of 2008.
Johnie was endowed with many admirable traits and qualities. She had a heart for God!
Johnie Mae Franklin departed this earthly life on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at the age of sixty-eight years seven months and eight days. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, John T. Franklin, Jr. and sister, Wanda Corbin.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories her daughter, Lori Renae Franklin; son, Billy Curtis McGuire (Stacey); foster mother, Virginia Johnson; five sisters, Rubbie Johnson (Roosevelt), Charlie DeBow Parker (Mark), Jessie Cousins, Bettie Harris (James) and Jewell Davis; four brothers, Melvin Franklin (Connie), Robert Franklin, Joseph Franklin, and Willie Taylor; six grandchildren, Eric Franklin, Kerry Franklin, Lakeisha Davis, Curtis McGuire, Isiah McGuire, and Amanda McGuire; six great-grandchildren, Ra’Vaughn Tobias, Eric Franklin, Jr., Kerrion Franklin, Errione Franklin, Micah Davis, and Laiah Burton.
