John A. Zuzak was born June 7th, 1929 in New Brighton, Pennsylvania to Louis and Mary Zuzak, John passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 4th, 2016 at the Wuesthoff Brevard Hospice House in Rockledge, Florida after a short battle with cancer.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Teresa Jordan; daughter, Nancy Stringham; grandchildren, Christopher Slightam, Amy Napolitano; great granddaughter ,Francesca Napolitano and step children , Craig Farewell, Paula Jones and Jeff Farewell.
John lived a full life having served in the Navy during World War II. He attended Rochester Institute of Technology and worked in the Newspaper Industry from 1950 – 1984. He was in charge of the presses, built 3 different offset printing plants and in later years was President of a Newspaper in Westchester, NY.
One of John’s favorite hobbies was being a pilot, but his biggest joy in life was racing as a professional stock car driver from 1949 – 1960. He continued to race in later years at Skip Barber Formula racing and over the years he kept his skills sharp by racing on the web. His last venture was last year (86 years old) at Richard Petty’s Nascar Speedway at Disneyland he also enjoyed playing the piano and like to play all the oldies.
The last thirteen years he lived here in Florida and was an avid tennis player at Kiwi Tennis Club where he enjoyed playing each week with his buddies. John always had a very positive attitude about life, enjoyed people and accepted them for who they were. He will be greatly missed and we feel blessed to have had him in our life.
