ohn Lee “Limbo” Williams, 62, of 123 W. Hively Ave., died at 5:20 a.m. Friday (Nov. 30, 2007) at home after an extended illness.
He was born Jan. 13, 1945, in Houston, Miss., to Radford and Lucille (Chandler) Williams.
He is survived by his significant other of 16 years, Yvonne Harley, along with one son, John (Kimi) Jackson of Elkhart; two stepsons, Michael McGee of Battle Creek, Mich., and Terrell McGee of Elkhart; one stepdaughter, Channa McGee of Elkhart; 10 grandchildren; four brothers, Hugh (Marlene) Williams, L.C. (Twila) Williams, Benny Williams and Leon Williams, all of Elkhart; and three sisters, Erie (Freddie) Johnson, Peggy (Charles) Caston and Debra Williams, all of Elkhart.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Earl, Billy and J.C. Williams.
Mr. Williams was a molder in the foundry business and had worked at G & W Industries in Elkhart for 14 years. He enjoyed working on cars, listening to all types of music, having barbecues for his friends and family, and dancing, which was how he earned his nickname, “Limbo.” He was a free-spirited man who loved life.
