John William Rock, Sr., 52, of Taneytown died unexpectedly Monday, July 15, 2013 in Taneytown. Born April 10, 1961 in Gettysburg, PA, he was the son of Benjamin and Gladys Lawver Rock of Taneytown. He was the husband of the late Roxanne Hann Rock, to whom he was married for 25 years.
John was an assembly mechanic at Flowserve Corporation in Taneytown. He was previously employed at the Solo Cup Company in Reisterstown for more than 25 years. He was an avid Baltimore Orioles and Baltimore Ravens fan. He enjoyed watching NASCAR races and was a Jeff Gordon fan. He was a collector of antique Tonka toys and pedal tractors. He loved his family and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son, John Jr.
Surviving in addition to his parents are son, John Rock, Jr. and wife Ashley of Hanover, PA; sisters, Carol Kreit of Berkeley Springs, WV, Barb Sanders and husband Rodney of Keymar, and Margaret Keister of Stanley, NC; brothers, Donald Rock and wife Peg, Gene Rock and companion Bev Stanley, and Eddie Rock, all of Taneytown, Tim Rock of Keymar, and Steve Rock and fiancé Kim Kreit of Taneytown; as well as many nieces and nephews.
