LTC. CH John W. Edgar, US Army, ret., age 86, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2016. Born in Chicago, IL on June 14, 1930, he was the son of William R. and Estella Holly Edgar. John had been a resident of Boerne for over 20 years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Kendall Lodge #897 A. F. & A.M. and a Past Grand Master and Past Grand Chaplain in the Grand Lodge of Alaska. An Ordained United Methodist Church Minister, he had served as Chaplain in the U. S. Army for 21 years. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his first wife, LaRue Edgar. He is survived by his wife, Deannie Edgar; daughter, Vanessa Edgar; step-daughters, Susan Odom, Judy Odom, and Lynn Odom; step-sons, Matthew Odom and Daniel Odom; several grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
