John William Dean, 78, of Lost Creek went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at his residence surrounded by his family following an extended illness. He was born March 19, 1932 in Braxton County the son of the late Harley Jackson Dean and Nancy R. Sturm Dean. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Ruth Bennett Dean whom he married November 24, 1951. In addition to his wife he is survived by one son; Ricky Dean of West Milford; three daughters; Janet Finley and husband Tim of West Milford, Karen Sutton and husband Mike of Lost Creek, Kim Toompas and husband Stanley of Philippi; ten grandchildren; Shannon Queen Richards, Clark Queen III, Johnny Dean and wife Lindsey, Clint Dean, Dalton Dean, Joshua Simons and wife Jamie, Jeremy Simons and wife Lydia, Jonah Simons, Christopher Toompas and Kelsey Toompas; seven great grandchildren; Haley Richards, Chapin Richards, Breonna Queen, Katlynn Queen, Clark Queen IV and Rylie Simons. Mr. Dean was preceded in death by one brother; Darrell Dean and five sisters; Myrtle Simms, Gladys Welch, Clara Loosemoore, Audra Johnson, Golda Hood, Jackie and Catherine Dean and one grandson; Anthony J. Richards.
