John Walters
Palmyra – John Walters, 70 died peacefully in his wife’s arms, Tuesday, August 27, 2002 at the Wayne County Nursing Home.
John was born the son of Harry and Sybil (Bower) Walters on September 1, 1931 in Clifton Springs, New York. He graduated from Newark High School and then Morrisville College. He worked for over 25 years at Reckitt & Benckiser in Wolcott as the purchasing manager. John was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Newark and the Good Sam Camping Club. He was a past member of the East Palmyra Volunteer Fire Department and served as the secretary for many years. He also served with the Habitat For Humanity Wayne County.
John will be missed by his loving wife of 47 years Norma Faas Walters; son and daughter-in-law Thomas and Karen Walters of TX; daughter and son-in-law Kathy and John Barnard of PA; grandchildren Hannah, Christianna and Maria Barnard; brother Harold Walters of Sodus; sister-in-law Dorothy Rockwell of Lyons; niece Diane (David) VanLare; nephew David (Susan) Walters and many friends.
John was predeceased by his sisters-in-law Margaret LeRoy in 1967 and Ethel Walters.
