WABER, John, Kalamazoo. Passed away August 13, 2011. He was born November 21, 1924 in Kalamazoo to Harrison and Naomi Stafford Waber was a lifelong resident of the area. John served in the U.S. Army in WW II at the landing of Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge.

He was the recipient of numerous medals including the European-African-Middle Eastern Theatre ribbons, with one silver battle star; the American Campaign medal, the Good Conduct medal and the WW II Victory medal. He was the owner of Waber Tool & Engineering, Inc., which has been a family business since 1920.

His memberships include the Society of Manufacturers and Engineers, the Legionnaires and was a Senior Member of the Kalamazoo Elks Club 37 years. He was also a charter member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church. John is survived by his wife of 36 years, June; his children, Eric, Sonja, Heidi, Laurie, Hans and Aaron; step-children, Michael, Judy and Janet; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
