Mr. John Wesley Shuler, Sr. of Tampa, FL passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2020.
John Wesley Shuler, Sr. was a native of Meigs, Georgia, born to Wesley Shuler, Sr. and Arie J. Shuler-Swopes. John was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County, graduating from Howard W. Blake High School, Class of 1963.
He enlisted into the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War and the Army Reserve where he received an Honorable discharge.
John was employed with the School District of Hillsborough County where he retired in November 2006. After retirement, John established his own business franchise until his health began to decline. “Darlin”, as he was affectionately known, loved life, music, outdoor activities and was an avid fan of the Las Vegas Raiders. He had a great sense of humor and flashed his big beautiful smile upon everyone he met.
John leaves to cherish his legacy and memory to his loving and devoted daughters and sons, Deneen Shuler-Anderson (Bobby), Michele Shuler, John Wesley Shuler, Jr. (Alfie), John Demetrius Shuler and Jermaine McDowell; siblings, Lovond Shuler, Robert Shuler, Sr. (preceded in death by his loving wife, Ruth Naomi Shuler), Mary Shuler-London (Winston, I), and Wesley Shuler. Jr.; grandchildren, Tramane Shuler, Timra Shuler-Drayton, John Wesley Shuler, III, Randall Leandre Barnes, Devohn Shuler, Breanna Shuler, Janay Shuler, Jamarcus Shuler, Chanel Westbrooks, Gloria Wyatt, Ayla Shuler, and Myanna McDowell; great-grandchildren, Derrick Hargrove, Jr., Lakenzii Shuler, John W. Shuler, IV, Johniya Shuler, Johntay Shuler, Kyng Shuler, Ky’John Shuler, and Samuel Miller, IV; nieces & nephews, Andretta Shalon Shuler, Tanjar Shuler, Lovonda Shuler, Shelly Gainous, Jr. (Tonya), Shontae London-Hill (Alvin), Winston London, II (Ashley), Robert Shuler, Jr. (Lashandra), Christina Spangler and Heather Elswick; cousins, John Reese, Leroy Sims (Karen), Geraldine Barber, Tommie Jones (Cynthia), Boykin Reese, Lillie Williams, Eva Simon, Margrete Harris (Willie), Sylvia McFarlane (Jasper), Clinton Shuler & Kaytoria Roberson, Runnetta Johnson (Herman), Gerald Jones (Linda), Earl Jones (Sheree), Carrol Holmes (James), Sharon Walton, and Julia White; Ex-wife and mother of his three oldest children, (Deneen, Michele and John W.
