John W. Nelson, 89, of 3201 River Road, Lewisburg, formerly of Louisa Street, died Friday, June 25, 2010 at the Riverwood’s Nursing Home.
Jack and his wife, the former Evelyn M. Smith, would have observed their 59th wedding anniversary on Wednesday.
Jack was a member of St. Paul-Calvary United Methodist Church, a graduate of the Carlton College of Physical Medicine, an avid singer, and enjoyed listening to books on tape and baseball games.
Jack was a massage therapist for the YMCA. He had five seeing eye dogs (boxers) from Seeing Eye, Inc., Morristown, NJ over the course of his life.
Born March 17, 1920 in Kane, McKean County, he and his brother, Robert, were the sons of Nels S. and Winifred G. Gillett Nelson.
Surviving is his wife of Lewisburg.
