John W. Mackey, 63, of O’Fallon, IL passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
John was born on November 5, 1951 in Belleville, IL. He retired as a Public Works Laborer with the City of O’Fallon after 29 years, and was a member of Laborers Local 670 in O’Fallon, St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, an avid reader and collector of all things; he enjoyed wood working, but mostly spending quality time with his family and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack & Edna Mackey, nee Corbier; and mother in-law and father-in-law, Richard & Grace Klucker.
John is survived by his wife, Patricia Mackey, nee Klucker, of O’Fallon, IL, whom he married on March 22, 1975; Son, Paul & Karen Mackey of Cadiz, KY; daughter, Stephanie & Aaron Hohm of Belleville, IL; siblings, Stephen (Linda) Mackey of Severn Maryland, Cynthia (Dan) Guthrie of Lebanon, IL., Lee Ann (Keith) Klucker of Shiloh, IL., Susan (Ted) Sullivan of Belleville, IL., James (Linda) Mackey O’Fallon, IL. Tina (Shane) Weleske of Hallock, MN, and Timothy (Brandy) Mackey of Belleville, IL.; six grandchildren, Avery, Devin, Piper and John Wyatt Mackey, Aubrie and Tegann Hohm.
He is also survived by sister-in-law, Nancee (Terry) Scott of Breese, IL, brother-in-law Rick (Heddy) Klucker of Fairview Heights, IL. Many Cherished nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to thank the staff at Barnes-Jewish Hospital on the cardio thoracic floor.
