John W. Jose, 60, of Chesterfield, Missouri, formerly of Centralia, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Delmar Gardens On The Green Nursing Home after a lengthy illness with Huntington’s Disease.

He was born January 14, 1959 in East St. Louis, Missouri, son of Frank L. Jose, Jr. and Anna (Yahn) Jose. He married Lisa Smith on December 24, 2001 in Las Vegas and she survives in New Melle, Missouri.

In addition to his wife of 17 years, Lisa Jose of New Melle, Missouri, he is also survived by a daughter: Lacy Lonero and husband Jason of St. Peters, Missouri, grandchildren: Connor, Addison, and Ellie Lonero of St Peters, Missouri; mother-in-law: Ruth Smith of Centralia; a sister: Sue Kinder of New York; a brother: Michael Jose of Belleville; two brothers-in-law: Randy Smith and special friend Dawn Lewis of Centralia and Chuck Smith and special friend Katrina Beard of Centralia; several nieces and nephews: Curty Haywood and wife Dorothy of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Michael Smith of Fort Myers, Florida, Becky Kinder of Brooklyn, New York, and Kelly Crosby and husband Sam of Marion, Ohio; several great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister: Shirley Travous, a brother: Frank “Bud” Jose and father-in-law: Charles Smith.

John was an avid sports fan and he especially loved horseracing. He was employed as a chef at the Centralia House Restaurant for many years. John loved his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them.
