John enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking.
He is survived by his wife Marsha A. (Douglas) Heiges; son John Heiges, Jr. of Mifflinburg, PA; daughter Sabrina Banner (Kenny) of Balsam Grove, NC; stepdaughter Michelle Hutzell of Falling Waters, WV; sister Helen Fischer of Watsontown, PA; sister Mary Weber of White Deer, PA; mother-in-law Gladys Douglas of Falling Waters, WV; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers Donald Heiges, George Heiges, and Arthur Heiges.
