John W. Carlson, 86, of Anderson, passed away on November 25, 2014 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital.
John was born in Michigan on October 11, 1928 and resided most of his life in Anderson. He graduated from Anderson High School in 1946 and worked as a Draftsman for General Motors and retired after 41 years of service. John enjoyed many hobbies that kept him busy including woodcarving, but most of all he loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
John is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Deloris (Brown) Carlson; sons, John (Kimberly) Carlson of Marshall, MI and Stephen (Tracy) Carlson of Grosse Pointe Woods, MI; grandchildren, Michael Carlson, Matthew Carlson, Kristin Carlson and Stephen Carlson; brothers, Marvin Carlson, Charles (Carol) Carlson, and Paul (Betty) Carlson all of Anderson. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thury and Alma (Honkala) Carlson and sister-in-law, Phyllis Carlson.
