John Vinton White Sr., 85, of Thurmont, Maryland passed peacefully on Sept. 22, 2017 in Orland Florida. John was born in Unicoi, Tennesse on September 3, 1932. Son of John C. and Bessie Bell White, brother to Dorothy Lovell, Madeline McFarlane, Wilma Kirby and Lois White.
He served honorably in Korea from 1953-1956. As John put it, “I found a great lady and married her.” Married to Margaret A. Willingham until her passing in 2003. John worked at the Smithsonian Institute as the Chief of Security Systems until his retirement.
