John V. D’Albora Jr, 94, passed away January 8, 2020. John Vincent D’Albora, Jr., born June 29, 1925, has been a lifelong Brevard County, Florida resident. He is the third generation of a four-generation citrus grower/packer family. His residence was in Rockledge with his wife of 72 years, Noretta. They have four children, John D’Albora, III ; Noretta Huff (Scott); Paul D’Albora (Terri); Ann Von Thron (Jim), and eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was the Chairman/CEO of the J.V. D’Albora Company.
Mr. D’Albora graduated from the Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida in 1943; attended Duke University in North Carolina; and graduated from Florida Southern College in 1949 with a BS in Citrus Science. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II.
He has served on the Canaveral Port Authority; the Brevard Community College Board of Trustees; the Wuesthoff Health Systems, Inc. Board of Trustees; the St. John’s River Water Management District Governing Board; and the Florida Citrus Commission.
He was a board member of the University of Central Florida Foundation; the Friends of Scouting, and a member and past president of the Cocoa Rotary Club.
