John Timothy Landis, 60 years old, passed away June 22, 2020, while working for a friend. Tim (as he was known) was born December 25, 1959, in Pennsylvania and was adopted by Fredrick and Dorothy Landis at birth. After graduating from Octorara High School in Pennsylvania in 1977, he joined the Marines where he served for five years. Tim was a resident of Britton, Michigan where he was well known. He was the love of Cheryl Lee Petrowski, with whom he lived, and they had planned on marrying when he retired at age 62. He loved cooking, especially for himself and Cheryl, and his nickname among his friends was “3 Courses and Dessert”.  Tim was a “jack of all trades and a master of all”.  He was employed by Wacker Chemical Company in Adrian for seventeen years.  He also was a service and repairman for Northern Tool Tractors which covered Michigan and the five surrounding states.  In addition, he had a repair shop at home in which he spent every spare moment repairing tractors and other old equipment which he would sell, as well as designing, engineering, and building equipment for himself.  Although it was hard work, he viewed it as his hobby. He was known as an honest, loyal, and hardworking man. He didn’t talk much and wasn’t interested in drama, but rather facts and what he could do to help solve your problem. Tim is survived by; his fiancée, Cheryl Lee Petrowsky; two sisters, Malissa (Jeff) Rosengarten and Deborah Nierhaus, both of Pennsylvania; niece, Allie Rosengarten; nephew, Alex Rosengarten; Cheryl’s two children, Joseph Clayton Jenks and Rose Marie Jenks, both from Michigan; her three grandsons, Joseph Jenks, Josh Jenks, and Jayden Jenks; and his stepson, Joe (Evalin) Raffensherger; as well as many other family members, friends, and business associates. He was preceded in death by his mother and father as well as his brother David Landis and his brother-in-law, Berry Nierhaus.
