John T. Harbin, 80, of Salem, died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 surrounded by his family. John was born October 12, 1932 in Hardy, MS, the son of Buster William and Corrie Carpenter Harbin. Artie Harbin, his stepmother raised him. He was employed at Eljers in Salem, Carbonic Dispenser 17 years in Canfield and Electric Furnace 26 years and retired in 1995. He was a member of the Greenford Lutheran Church and served as a councilman and usher. He was an U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a life member of the Elks Lodge #305 in Salem. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with family and friends. He is survived by the love of his life for 61 years, Donna (Bush) Harbin, whom he married November 11, 1951, a son, Daniel Harbin of Mannington, WV; a daughter, Pam Lutsch of Salem; a sister, Elizabeth Smart of Grenada, MS; grandchildren, Jonathon (Hope) Harbin, Josh Harbin, Justin Harbin, Jennifer McHenry, Ryan and Tanner Lutsch and their father, Richard Lutsch; two great-grandchildren; and three special ladies, Mary and Shawna Fanok and Katie Dance. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Clyde Lowery and Floyd Lowery and a sister, Inez Banar.
