John William George Short, age 77 of Milford, beloved husband of Sandra Short passed away on Wednesday, July 16th 2014 in Bridgeport Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on October 1st, 1936 in Broadtown, United Kingdom he moved to the United States in 1975. John was a 12 year resident of Milford where he enjoyed watching the sunset over Anchor Beach and climbing on the rocks with his grandkids.
A long time employee of Bristol Meyers, John was the Director of Appliance Operations for Clariol in Stamford where he enjoyed traveling all over the world. In his retirement he co-owned Card$mart in Woodmont. John enjoyed reading, watching movies, trying new recipes, and was an avid New York Islander fan.
In addition to his wife Sandra of 52 years John is survived by his daughter Caroline and her husband Richard, son Tim and his wife Monica and his much-loved grandchildren, Megan and James Schumacher and Hannah, Jake and Summer Short.
The family would like to thank the staff on the 7th floor of the Norma F. Pfriem Cancer Institute for taking such great care of John.
