John was born the first child to George and Betty Vogt in Atlanta Georgia and moved with his family to Nashville, Tennessee as a child. He was the big brother to siblings David, Suzanne(Sutton) and Catherine (Hollo). He attended Hillsboro and Pearl High Schools. He spent his adult life in the Nashville area where he earned a living as an electrician.
John was vitally involved in the care of his father, George during his convalescence and eventual decline brought upon by Parkinson’s disease. John made it possible for George to remain in the comfort of his own home providing him with devoted and constant care.
