John Schroeder, Jr., 74, of Middletown, passed through peacefully to eternal life on August 1, 2016 at the home of his daughter, Barbara Schnurbush in East Wakefield, NH. He was surrounded by his family. John is now reunited with his family and friends who have gone before him and with his beloved German Shepherd, Prince. John was born on July 7, 1942 in Middletown to the late John and Gertrude (Gross) Schroeder. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School, Class of 1960 and was a member of the Future Farmers of America and of The Connecticut River Coastal Conservation District. He served in the National Guard Reserves. John was employed by the E. P. Hayes Bus Company for several years and then by Yankee Milk in Colchester as the chief mechanic until they closed. His remaining years were at Sweet Life Foods in Suffield, CT as a truck mechanic, retiring from there in 2001. He was a proud member of the Teamsters Local 559.
