John Sawaryn

Salem – John Sawaryn, 97 of West Road died Peacefully on Monday August 10, 2015. He was the loving husband of the late Doris (Ouellet) Sawaryn who died in 1998. Born in Detroit, MI, he was the son of the late Michael & Rose (Lipieka) Sawaryn.
John worked as a tool maker and design engineer for the underwater sound lab in New London. He was a WWII Army Air Corp Veteran serving in Japan. He was a member of the American Legion. He was an avid skier and enjoyed making crafts and wood working. John loved to travel and go on cruises.
John is survived by his sons, Mark Sawaryn of Salem, CT and David Sawaryn of New York, NY , his grandson Christopher Sawaryn, his great Grandson Teagan Bergeson and his cousins Michael Sawaryn, Joyce Len and Gale Majewski. He was predeceased by his brother Charles Sawaryn in 1988.
