John Samuel Faulkner passed away on August 25, 2022 in Boca Raton, Florida at the age of 89.
Dr. Faulkner, a Fellow of the American Physical Society and the American Association for the Advancement of Science, served as Professor of Physics in the Physics Department of Florida Atlantic University and as Associate Director of the Center for Biomedical and Materials Physics (CBAMP) since 1986, after a successful career at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. As Emeritus Professor he continued teaching and writing until the end of spring 2022. A researcher, teacher and writer, Dr. Faulkner has published scientific papers and textbooks, and a forward-looking novel “The Sparrow”. He was a beloved husband, father, uncle, grandfather, teacher, colleague, and friend.
