John S. Ruff, Sr., 87 of Silver Ridge Park West, a section of Berkeley Township died on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at Community Medical Center, Van Dyke Hospice, Toms River. Born in Avenel, NJ he lived in Colonia, NJ, and Keeseville, NY before moving to Silver Ridge Park West 26 years ago.
John served in the United States Navy during WWII. He was a parishioner at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Toms River. John was a member of the VFW Post 10185, American Legion, and Elks of Toms River and he was the Past President of the Kiwanis Club in Keeseville, NY.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Gertrude Ruff; his children John S. Ruff, Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Keeseville, NY, Steven Ruff and his wife Joy of Belvedere, NJ, Barbara and her husband John Fedeyko of Toms River, NJ, Denise and her husband Jon Gussler of Middleburg, FL; his six grandchildren Wendy, Jay, Melanie, Jeremy, Johnny, and Michael and nine great-grandchildren.
