John Robert “Uncle Bob” Fullington, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017, at Meadow Ridge Estates.

He was born July 5, 1930, in Carnegie, OK, to John Rafter and Mary Willis (Pogue) Fullington.

John joined the U.S. Army six days after turning 17 years old, as a paratrooper. After being honorably discharged from the Army he then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force; and served for a total of 23 and a half years; retiring as a Staff Sergeant.

He then joined the Bernalillo County Sheriff Department in Albuquerque, NM, as a deputy sheriff; serving for 18 years. He then served as a private investigator until 1989.

John was a member of the First Family Church in Albuquerque, United States Air Force Retired Sergeant Association, the Masonic Lodge #667 Fort Bragg NC, and the Private Investigators Association of New Mexico. He was trained in numerous military and law enforcement procedures.

He married Doris Maxine Mallory on October 4, 1951, in Fort Smith AR, and she survives of Moberly. Also surviving are a sister Betty Joyce Prewitt of Moberly; six nieces; five nephews; and many great nieces and great nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Virgie Sue Manek. His Love of God was first in his life.  He also enjoyed spending time with family, cars, motorcycles, guns, and fishing.
