John “Richard” Ratliff, 85, of Greenwood, Indiana, passed away peacefully Thursday evening, July 21, 2022, surrounded by his wife of 64 years and his entire family. He was born in Franklin, Indiana on March 20, 1937. Richard was a devout family man and dedicated to his church – the First Baptist Church of Greenwood, where he was a member for over sixty years, and his community. His heart was with his Lord, wife, and family.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Fern, their two grown children, Mark (Vicki) and Steve (Linda), and their five grandchildren, Jacob (Stephanie), Amanda (Justin), Megan (Scottie), Evan, and Audrey (Caleb). He is also the proud great-grandfather of Madison, Ethan, Mason, Macy, Bailey, and Landon!
Richard and Fern were married in the First Baptist Church in 1958. They enjoyed and cherished their friendships formed over those years. Richard enjoyed his Indiana sports teams, but took great pride in watching his kids do things they really enjoyed, from playing sports to riding horses to playing musical instruments. He further truly enjoyed watching his grandkids and then great-grandkids do what they loved to do.
