John Richard Hancock, 66, of Indianapolis, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2017, in Greenwood.
He was born on February 15, 1951, in Indianapolis, to his parents, John Daniel and Marjorie Louise (Spencer) Hancock.
He was a crew leader for the City of Indianapolis Department of Parks and Recreation from 1974, until his retirement, in 2012; he was also a member of the AFL-CIO, local 725. John enjoyed going to the casinos and watching movies. He was an avid Frisbee golf enthusiast and loved sports, of all kinds. Uncle John loved his nieces and nephews and spending time with them.
John is survived by two sisters, Patty Smith of Indianapolis and Barbara Thorne of Howell, Michigan; and one brother Mark Hancock of Indianapolis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Butch Gibson and a sister, Donna Jones.
