John Ranft, 74, of Irvington, passed away Friday, August 23, 2019, at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia. He was born October 15, 1944 in Centralia, son of Floyd E. Ranft and Faye Ellen (Noller) Ranft. He married Caroline Fitzgerald on December 16, 1966, in Mt. Vernon and she survives in Irvington.
In addition to his wife of 52 years, Caroline Ranft of Irvington, he is also survived by his two children: James Floyd Ranft and wife Amy of Centralia and Lesa Diane (Ranft) Oettle of Central City; two grandsons: Cameron Oettle of Central City and Bailey Ranft of Centralia; a step-granddaughter: Trista Hellige and husband Lance of Carlyle; six great-grandchildren: Olivia, Nicole, Aiden, Keaton, Katelyn, and Gabrielle. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister: Nancy Wendling, a son-in-law: John W. Oettle II, and a step-granddaughter: Kristeen Oettle. John retired from Gilster Mary Lee in Centralia after working there for 5 plus years. He enjoyed taking care of his pets, fishing, and watching John Wayne Movies and old Westerns.
