John Rander, Jr., age 80, of Bethlehem, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Born in 1940 in Parnu, Estonia, he was one of five children of the late Jaan (John) G. and Edith O. (Bergmann) Rander. In 1950, John and his family immigrated to the United States, and he earned his associates degree from Churchman’s Business College in Easton, PA.  John’s wife, Marianne “Penny,” recently preceded him in April 2020. Together they shared 56 years of marriage and enjoyed raising their two children in Bethlehem. John proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1958-1962 in the Naval Air Station in Brunswick, Maine. He also spent most of his working career as a Purchasing Agent at Christmas Club, a Corporation/Valley Printing, Inc. in Easton, PA. In his free time, John enjoyed playing long games of pool, partaking in poker games at the senior center, and going to the casino. He especially liked taking bus trips to visit casinos in Atlantic City. One of John’s favorite pastimes included watching old tv show reruns. He loved spending time with family and cherished friends at holidays, birthday parties, and other special events. 

Survivors: John will be remembered by his daughter, Renee’ Young and husband, Brien; son, Erik Rander and wife, Christine; and sisters, Maarja Latshaw and her husband, Robert, and Esther Pivarnik and her husband, John. He was predeceased by his sisters Eva Romano and Ruth DeRosa.  He also leaves grandchildren, Jarrid, Aaron, Zachary, Megan, Sarah, and Jeffrey.
