John R. Ramirez, Sr., 79, of Brighton entered into heaven on August 8, 2015. He was born in Erie, CO on May 28, 1936 to Innocencio and Francisca Ramirez. John married Albinita Ortega on January 2, 1959 in Lafayette. Together they raised 5 daughters and 1 son.
John grew up in Lafayette and graduated from Lafayette High School in 1954. John went to work for Safeway after graduation and then was drafted into the US Army and served 2 years; stationed in Germany. He returned from the military and began a career at Cononcor as an operator. A career that lasted over 30 years.
John was a member of the Eagle’s Club and loved to play pool. He kept his yard looking absolutely immaculate. John loved to sing and dance with friends and family. He was a huge fan of the Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies. Most of all- John loved to spend time with his family and loved his grandkids.
An extremely hard worker, John’s sense of humor, kindness and warm smile will be missed by all who knew him.
John is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Albinita; daughters: Joan (Gary) Medina, Anita (Donald) Padilla, Julie (John) Macias, Regina ( her fiancée Mark) Ramirez and Maria Ramirez; son: John Ramirez; grandchildren: Erica, Andrew, Robert, Steven, Krystal, Kenny, Michael, Brittni, David, Stefanie, Jordan, Angelika, Janessa, David, Jr., Noah and 19 great-grandchildren.
