Prospect- Mr. John R. Paolino, Sr., 78, of Dorothy Ave. died Wednesday, November 14 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Cantillon) Paolino.

 

Mr. Paolino was born February 3, 1929 in Waterbury, son of the late Alfred and Concetta (Basisl) Paolino. Raised in Waterbury he attended local schools and served honorably in the United States Marine Corp. He had worked for several years as a Waterbury Police Officer and was the former owner of Johnny’s City Line Exxon on South Main Street from 1959 until 1979, at that time he became an owner/operator of his own trucking company. In 1994 he retired from the Department of Motor Vehicles after 13 years of employment.

 

He was a member of the Gasoline Retailers Assoc., the Watertown Jaycees, the Highway Angels Motorcycle Club, a life member of the Italian American War Veterans, a life member of Favale Genererali Post 8 and was a former member of the Knights of Columbus Pius X Council Oakville-Watertown.

 

In addition to his wife of 46 years he is survived by one son, John R. “Jay” Paolino, Jr of Prospect; one daughter, Tammy Leigh Paolino of Prospect; one brother, Joseph Paolino and his wife Frances of Prospect; one sister, Rosemary Eastman and her husband Philip of Augusta, GA; two grandson, Nicholas J. and Julian M. Paolino and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his brother Alfred Paolino.
