John Philip Palmieri, Sr., April 5, 1930 – January 8, 2019 John was born in Revere, PA, to Antonetta (DiBartolomeo) and Giuseppe Palmieri.  He grew up in nearby Republic, PA, with three sisters and one brother. After moving to Middletown, John graduated from E.C. Goodwin Tech, and served the 169th Army Infantry, K Company, CT National Guard, federalized during the Korean War.  On September 10, 1949, he married Anna Mae Morello.  The couple had five children and made their home in Cromwell.  John worked as a welder, designer of wire products, jig-maker and shop foreman for 50 years, retiring from J. C. Products, Higganum. He built motorcycles and furniture and whatever you needed, and passed his skills along.  

He lived his life for the family he loved, and suffered the loss of his wife, Anna Mae, in 2002, his sons John and Joseph in 2016, and his grandson, Stephen, in 2018.  He is survived by his daughter, Claudia, daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Paul Marchinkoski, and son Anthony; by grandchildren Allen (Aggie) Negrini, Joseph (Lisa) Palmieri, David (Caitlin) Palmieri, Jeanine Grochowski, Paolo, John and Emily Palmieri, Paul and Dustin Marchinkoski, Holden (Sonia) and Caleb (Melissa) Palmieri; and 8 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Joseph (Virginia), sister, Madelyn (John) Vetrano.  He was predeceased by two sisters, Marie Palmieri and Carol Olson, and leaves brothers-and-sister-in-law, Eugene Olson and Jackie and Nick Tomassone.
