John J. Petralito passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 after a very fulfilling joyous life. John was born on July 27, 1922 in Lawrence, MA, graduating from Suffix University. John retired from the Lawrence school system in 1983 and moved to Florida where he enjoyed his retirement, but John was the ultimate provider and continued to work until the age of 88 years old. John loved his wife and his family deeply.
John is survived by his wife, Rita Petralito; son, John and his wife, Ellen Petralito of New Hampshire; his daughter, Rachael Petralito and beloved friend, Kathy Sanchez of Rockledge, FL; brother, Chuck Petralito and wife, Nellie from Georgia; grandson, Chris Petralito and wife, Shannon of Massachusetts; granddaughter, Jennifer Gill and husband, Anthony of Massachusetts; and through marriage granddaughter, Michelle Jutton; grandson, Keith Nesbitt and wife, Katlyn; great grandchildren, Anthony Petralito, Alec Gill, Steven and Michael Jutton and Kayla Nesbitt; and several nieces and nephews.
John was a member and President of the Lawrence Italian College Club and the Amvets of Rockledge FL, Post 863. John served in World War II in the Army Air Corp.
John and Rita enjoyed 65 wonderful years together. Their life together was devoted to their children and their families. They were avid golfers at Andover Country Club in Massachusetts and followed their passion with a move to Florida, residing at the Doral Country Club and finally settling in Viera East.
When John walked into a room he had a knack for making friends with everyone. He was a very special person. One that you couldn’t help but love the moment you met him.
