John Peter Miller, 86, of Bethlehem, passed away Friday, September 17, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Jacqueline R. (Uberroth) Miller with whom he shared over 61 years of loving marriage. Born on February 28, 1935 in Fountain Hill, he was a son of the late Prof. Archie Roscoe and Ingrid (Henningsen) Miller.

John was a graduate of Liberty High School class of 1953 where he was on the swim team. He attended Lehigh University, and was a graduate of Bethlehem Business College. John honorably served his country in Korea as a proud member of the Unted States Army.  Professionally, John worked as an accountant for over 40 years with various firms throughout PA and NJ. Upon retirement, he worked with Penn State University’s Embryology Program as a classroom educator.

In his spare time, (there was not much) John enjoyed helping today’s youth understand agriculture through his role as a Leader with Northampton County 4-H Livestock Club.  

He was a charter member, past President, Treasurer & current board member of The Pennsylvania Canal Society (PCS) and author of “The Lehigh Canal: A Thumb Nail History”. 

 Survivors: John will be lovingly remembered by his wife Jacquie; daughter, Jacquelynn Venable of Hanover Twp.; son, Jon-Erick Miller and wife Heather of Hanover Twp.; grandchildren, Grant Venable, Madison and Kendall Miller.
