Perry was a native of Dewitt, Arkansas, and lived most of his life in Randolph County, and served in the United States Air Force in Korea. He retired with 36 years at Thompson and Arthur Paving Company in Greensboro as a foreman and currently as a dispatcher with Gate City Towing.
