John Pearse Auter, Jr., (known to family and friends as Buddy, Poppi, and Duke), a son of the late John P. Auter Sr. and Lola James Roberts Auter, peacefully entered Heaven’s gates on Saturday, February 27, 2016, while he was surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Oak Grove, Louisiana on January 9, 1949, and had resided in Tallahassee for the past 65 years. He had faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force and was a retired banker with Farmer and Merchants Bank. He enjoyed spending time with his buddies, golfing, fishing, and the Florida State Seminoles Football. Surviving are his wife, Deborah Ann Auter; daughter, Kara Nevin; stepdaughters, Christy Korthase, (husband, Gregory) and Tiffany Morris, (fiancé, Larry Prescott); grandchildren, Lillia Morris, Collin Morris, Jack Korthase, and Samuel Korthase; and siblings, James (Nancy) Auter, Chris Auter, Johnnie (Larry) Downing and Barbara (Alan) Dial.
