John Paul (J.P.) Kennedy was born in Durham, NC on April 1, 1954. He was the twelth child of Leon A. and Nita Davis Kennedy. He left his earthly body May 25, 2010 at the very young age of 54. J.P. Was a beautiful and charaismatic child and kept these gifts thru out his life. He served in the military for 13 years, as most of his brothers had. There he completed his education and earned his degree. He was always driven to excel. He served as staff sergeant and was highly regarded in his accomplishments. He was a leader who helped many others reach their goals and to excel. His sterling military record includes a “Commendation Medal of Honor” from Washington D.C. For his outstanding performance, leadership, and valor, above and beyond the call of duty. After his tenure there, he moved to Charlotte, NC with his wife Paige Totty Kennedy. There he started his own business. He worked very hard, and quickly became successful. When he left us he was President and Ceo of his own company. He leaves a son, Marcus Lee Kennedy, two sisters, Lena Kennedy Patterson of Huntsville, AL, Nita Kennedy Neal of Atlanta, GA; three brothers, Ralph C. Kennedy, B.D. Kennedy and Tony Kennedy, all of Chattanooga, TN; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. J.P. Was an inspiration to all of us. And we are more than proud of him and his accomplishments. But more than that we think about his closeness and love for his family. He will be missed. In heaven, he will join his parents, and brothers, William Lee, J.L., Henry, Ray, Durell, and L.A., and wife Paige Kennedy.
