Mr. McAvoy was an avid reader, trivia expert, New York Yankees and Giants fan, history buff, and a fan of show tunes. He loved the beach especially Wrightsville, NC. He also enjoyed music, especially Frank Sinatra and movies, especially comedies. Mr. McAvoy is survived by his wife of 33 years, Kathleen McAvoy, his son John McAvoy, his brother Eugene McAvoy, and his sister Mary Handley.
