John P. Mangers, Jr. was born on July 13, 1925 in Juniata, Nebraska to John P. Mangers, Sr. and Anna L. (Pitts) Mangers. He was the youngest of a family of two brothers and two sisters. He grew up on a farm in Roseland, Nebraska and later moved to Holstein where he farmed and owned a bar. In 1955, the family moved to Denver, Colorado where he went to work for Climax Mining Company. After six months, he went to work for the GSA at the Federal Center. He retired from there after 36 years. He enjoyed many hobbies including fishing, hunting, camping, and traveling. Family was very important to him.
John is survived by his wife Jessie of 35 years, daughter Mary Mangers of Thornton, and sons Mike (Ranee) of Golden, Ken (Sharon) of Littleton, Jack (Robin) of Arvada, and Joe (Mary) of Highlands Ranch. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
