John Fulwiler, a Navy veteran and ordnance tech, passed away on February 18, 2021 at the age of 74 in Temple, Texas. Born in McComb, Mississippi on February 15, 1948 to Wallis Fulwiler and Wadine Ware, John is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Berta Fulwiler.

His memory will live on through his sister Jane Fulwiler, step-son Esteban Brown, grandchildren (Etienne, Stephanie, Victoria, Beto, and Konrad), great grandchild (Luna), his nephew Joe Fulwiler and his wife Jennifer and their six children (Donnell, Lane, Lucy, Kate, Pammy, and JT). He was predeceased by his parents and two siblings, Judy and Joe.

John graduated from Amarillo College with an associate’s degree in applied science. While in the Navy, he was stationed on the USS Robert L. Wilson DD 847 (the “Willy boat”) and earned many accolades, including a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal.

He was a devoted husband, grandfather, and uncle. He enjoyed traveling, taking many trips around the world with Berta. He was also an expert hunter and experienced marksman. He often gathered with friends and family and was known for his excellent bartending skills, particularly pitufos and Bloody Marys. He was a respected member of his community and a lover of animals.
