John Oscar Carlon, age 70, of Green Forest, AR departed this life Tuesday, January 17, 2012 with his family by his side. He was born on August 13, 1941 in Yuba City, California to the late Olen “Cos” Carlon and Walsie Lee (Beeson) Carlon Young. He grew up in Hattieville, AR. He served in the US Army, receiving an honorable dischare. On November 29, 1963 he married Lola Jean Clark. John worked as a salesman for Ozark Sash and Door out of Springdale and had also worked as a waste water treatment operator for the city of Green Forest. He was associated with the Assembly Of God Church. He was skilled in carpentry and had built some houses in the past. He loved country music shows, working outside and spending time with his family. John earned a much-deserved reputation as a hard worker during his life. John is survived by his wife, Lola Jean Carlon of the home, daughter, Lisa Carlon of Springfield, MO, brothers; Vann Carlon, Jerry Carlon and wife Gayle of Morrilton, Tommy Carlon and wife Cheryl of Friendswood, TX and a host of family and friends who loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents and his step-father, James Young.
