Our beloved brother, John Omer Call, age 70, quietly passed away at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, on Saturday, September 17, 2022. He was born in Brigham City to Omer Justin and Betty Merrell Call on December 4, 1951.
In his youth, John enjoyed swimming and skiing. He attended Box Elder High School graduating in 1970 and then enrolled at Weber State College. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Philippines from 1972-1974.
John received two degrees from Weber State College, a degree in accounting in 1982 and a degree in Computer Information Systems in 1987.
John began working for Smith’s grocery at 16 and continued working at their various stores in Brigham, Ogden, and Rose Park for 20 years. Then in 1987 upon his college graduation, John moved to Killeen, Texas to take a job with the US Army Audit Agency at Ft. Hood. There he worked as an auditor and certified fraud examiner. It afforded lots of travel throughout the US, which he enjoyed. In 2013, John retired after 26 years.
John moved to St. George, in 2015 and then to Salt Lake City in 2018. He struggled with many health issues but found time for his favorite pastimes: reading, genealogy, and collecting. He especially loved his nieces and nephews.
