John Niemkiewicz, age 91, of Media, Pennsylvania, passed away suddenly, at home, May 10, 2022. He was a loving father and grandfather. He cared deeply about his family.
He is the father of children, Andrea Bukay and late son-in-law Rick, John Niemkiewicz and daughter-in-law Renie, the late Mark Niemkiewicz and daughter-in-law Marie, Mary Silvers and son-in-law Eric, and Evan Niemkiewicz and daughter-in-law Maggie. He is survived by ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, families of in-laws, and many friends.
He was born, December 13, 1930, in Manayunk, PA., son of the late Ignatius & Sophie Niemkiewicz. He is the brother of Thomas and sister-in-law Marian, and his late sisters, Theresa, and Philomena.
He attended Saint James High School. He was a marine veteran and served during the Korean war. He was a graduate of the Pennsylvania Military College (PMC). He was a Mechanical Engineer (PE) and greatly enjoyed his profession.
John began his career at Allis-Chalmers. His career led to positions at Gulf+Western Industries, Inc., the Franklin Institute Research Center, and the EPRI M&D Center. He was an ISO (International Organization for Standardization) member and committee chair. He was proud of his professional accomplishments. He traveled professionally and visited many countries. He enjoyed traveling and experiencing the culture of the countries he visited.
John enjoyed going to his beach condominium in Ocean City, MD, attending Eagles games, and doing crossword puzzles. He enjoyed going to restaurants, concerts, theatre plays, and art museums.
He had a great sense of humor.
John lived his life with enthusiasm and enjoyed every moment possible. He ambitiously pursued a good, rewarding, full life that he could share with his family and friends.
