John Nicholl, 78, of Englewood passed away Oct 4. He was born on Feb 18, 1933 to David and Helen Nicholl. He graduated from Englewood HS in 1950. He enlisted in the Navy in 1951 and served our country training Navy pilots in navigation skills. On August 26, 1955 he married Ida May (Dye). He was a registered land surveyor and operated Arapahoe Surveys. In 1964 he was elected Arapahoe County Commissioner and served the citizens with great leadership, passion, and commitment for 24 years. He was instrumental in the development of Arapahoe County Airport (now Centennial Airport.) He was a man of integrity and honor and was a dedicated public servant. He loved his family and was a faithful husband, father and friend. He is survived by his wife Ida May, his children, John Jr., David and Jami, and numerous relatives and friends.
