WINSTED –NAVIN – John Navin, Jr., 81, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 15, 2014. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth (Calkins) Navin for 59 years. Born on February 21, 1933 in Winsted; the son of the late John and Grace (Johnson) Navin. John retired from Pratt & Whitney as a Machinist. He was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed fishing. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army. After retirement, he gladly was devoted to driving his grandchildren to all their events. He is survived by a son, John Navin and wife Kris of Torrington; two daughters, Nancy Hafford and husband James of Winsted and Sandra Davis and husband Todd of Barkhamsted; grandchildren, Abby, Casey, Suzie, Sarah and husband Vincent, Kristen and Molly; and great grandchildren, Lucas and Griffin. In addition to his wife who passed away in 2011, he was predeceased by three siblings, Kathleen Jackman, Mary Hudach and Joseph Navin.
