John Morgan Clausen of Storrs, CT died peacefully on February 9, 2017 at the age of 70. He was a man of quirky humor and great generosity.  Many knew him to be soft-spoken but full of genuine conviction.

John was born on December 28, 1946 in Waterbury, CT, where he attended Sacred Heart High School (class of 1964).  He served in the Army as a medic and later worked for Windham Hospital.

John married his first wife Diana in 1974. They had two sons together and later divorced. He met his wife Anne while working at Windham Hospital, and the two began a 25-year relationship in 1991, marrying in 2008. His family relationships and commitment to serving others were the pillars of his life.

John was a lover of music, especially jazz and classical. He could often be found reading books on civil war history, while puffing a cigar. He held a fascination for astronomy from an early age, and participated in a weekly philosophy club to discuss the meaningful issues of life.

John will be sincerely missed by his beloved wife, Anne, his sister, Judith Ball, his two sons, Jonathan and Daniel, their wives, Alicia and Courtni, his two granddaughters, Elia and Ariel,  and his coming grandson.
